PCCC facilities are installed at most CCGT plants to capture 18.1 Mt of CO₂. In addition, Direct Air Capture (DAC) capture 3.7 Mt of CO₂. Biomethanation allows to compensate for 2.8 Mt of CO₂ thanks to the use of 14.1 TWh of biomethane. Together, this represents a reduction of 24.6 Mt of CO₂.

This compensates for the 20.7 Mt of CO₂ emissions of CCGTs and 4.0 Mt of CO₂ emissions of final demand for methane. Together this represents emissions of 24.60 Mt of CO₂.

We achieve therefore a net-zero energy system.
