PCCC facilities are installed at most CCGT plants to capture 18.1 Mt of CO2. In addition, Direct Air Capture (DAC) capture 3.7 Mt of CO2. Biomethanation allows to compensate for 2.8 Mt of CO2 thanks to the use of 14.1 TWh of biomethane. Together, this represents a reduction of 24.6 Mt of CO2.
This compensates for the 20.7 Mt of CO2 emissions of CCGTs and 4.0 Mt of CO2 emissions of final demand for methane. Together this represents emissions of 24.60 Mt of CO2.
We achieve therefore a net-zero energy system.
